Ok, confession; I tidied up…considerably…before taking this photo of the desk I write at.
Had to; otherwise all you’d see would be a mound of sweet wrappers, post-it notes, bus tickets and (losing) Lotto tickets, all covered with my scribbles. See that’s the thing about being an author; everyone says you should carry a note book with you at all times, as you never know when a good idea will strike. And it’s true, often I can get a bit stuck on a particular plot point and yet when I take a good long walk and clear my head a bit, a fresh idea will strike. So it gets scribbled down on whatever scrap of paper I have to hand and ends up littering my desk – ahem, – not the most organised of methods, admittedly!
That aside though, my writing room is probably the warmer spot in my house, always a plus, and you’ll notice a pack of chocolate raisins to hand…I’m a divil for needing sugar boosts when working. The fresh flowers are my only indulgence; I often say, in this house there may not always be food in the fridge but I sure as hell won’t go without flowers!
