Hosting a cover reveal is always exciting (total cover lovers around here), but it’s even more so when those covers belong to a member of Team Novelicious.
You may have read about our very own Cressida McLaughlin achieving a book deal with Harper Fiction recently. The first novel will be published as a series in four separate eBook installments and will tell the heart-warming and witty story of a young woman, Cat, who sets up a dog-walking business in and around the locale of Primrose Terrace. The series will follow the lives and loves of the residents and their adorable doggy charges.
Sounds lovely, doesn’t it?
Well, without further ado, here are the four gorgeous covers!
WELLIES AND WESTIES (April 30)
Catherine ‘Cat’ Palmer realises, too late, that bringing an adorable puppy into work at the local nursery was a bad idea, especially after the ensuing chaos gets her the sack.
Determined to turn a negative into a positive, Cat decides this is the perfect opportunity to get her dog-walking business off the ground with the help of her flatmates, Polly and Joe. After all, Primrose Terrace, where she lives, is full of home-alone dogs and their busy owners such as Elsie with her Miniature Schnauzers and Jessica, with her coterie of yappy Westies.
Then there’s Mark, the mystery man who’s just moved in with his Border Collie. Cat finds him intriguing but as Polly reminds her, her curious nature has a habit of getting her into trouble …
SUNSHINE AND SPANIELS (June 18)
Cat Palmer’s dog walking business, Pooch Promenade, is taking off. It hasn’t been plain sailing but with the help of her flatmate Joe, she’s taken on some more new clients from Primrose Terrace.
She’s also got to know her sexy neighbour, Mark, and his Collie, Chips, a little better, but thinks there’s more to him that meets the eye. Perhaps sorting out her best friend Polly’s love life will be easier than her own?
While hosting a ‘mutts mixer’ in the park, she finds a runaway puppy called Olaf. His name tag points them in the direction of harassed single mum Frankie, who is struggling to cope. Cat and Polly are keen to help, but Cat wonders if this time, they have bitten off more than they can chew …
The autumn leaves are falling on Primrose Terrace and Cat thinks that the street has never looked lovelier. But things are far from rosy for the Barker’s at No.8. Cat’s been walking their pair of gorgeous Golden Retrievers and she’s noticed that things are distinctly chilly between owners Juliette and Will.
For Cat, things are coming to a head with Mark, but her feelings are conflicted as she wonders if he really is the right man for her, especially as she is getting closer to flatmate Joe. Cat thinks she must be able to do something to stop autumn falling on the Barker’s marriage, but is there anything she can do to resolve her feelings about Mark?
Christmas has come to Primrose Terrace and Cat is feeling good. Pooch Promenade is doing brilliantly and she has made lots of new friends in the street, both dogs and owners. Even Grumpy Mr Jasper the local busybody seems finally to be coming round to her dog walking business.
But things start to go badly when she learns something about Mark that she wish she hadn’t. Then, when one of Ellen’s lovable schnauzers, Chalky, gets ill, it looks like this Christmas could be turning into a dog’s dinner.
But Cat has never given up on anything in her life and she isn’t about to start now – this is one Christmas that is definitely worth saving …
We love them! What do you think? Which is your favourite?
