1. Only write about subjects you are passionate about – it’ll show in your words if you’re not interested in what you are describing.
2. Remember to use all of the five human senses. Aroma in particular is often forgotten when describing a scene.
3. Don’t repeatedly use the same words within a story.
4. When you think you’ve finished, read your work through just one more time – preferably after not having looked at it for a while. It’s amazing how many errors you’ll see after resting your work for a day or two.
5. Have fun with your words.
