This year, July should be called the month of the comic book (or something a little more catchy!). The two big films from the month are the re-imagining of the Spiderman franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man and the third offering in the Christian Bale/Christopher Nolan Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises.
3rd July
The Amazing Spider-Man
Not long after Tobey Maguire donned the spidee-suit, the franchise has had a reboot. This time it's British Actor Andrew Garfield in the role with his off-screen girlfriend Emma Stone playing love interest Gwen Stacy. In this reboot, Peter Parker is trying to learn the truth behind what really happened to his parents. The film looks totally different to the Maguire/Dunst trilogy and also sees Brit Rhys Ifans in the role of villain. A 3d spectacle for those who love a good comic-book romance/drama. Plus, Garfield looks hot!

The Dark Knight Rises
After the roaring success of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Director Christopher Nolan returns for his third and final installment, with Christian Bale reprising the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne alongside Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gorden-Levitt and Tom Hardy as villain Bane. Batman has been gone it seems, but with Bane terrorising Gotham City, the people need him to return. It looks dark, it looks action-packed, it looks epic!

Dr. Seuss' The Lorax
Dr. Seuss fans will be delighted to see The Lorax adapted onto the big screen with the brilliant vocal talents of Danny Devito (currently on stage in London!). Also lending their voices to the film are Zac Efron, Taylor Swift and Ed Helms. With a gorgeous bright colour to the film reminiscent of the books themselves and a message about trees… this is sure to entertain younger family members.

Special mention has to go to Magic Mike (out 11th July) which sees Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConnaughey as male strippers. I'd tell you more about the plot… but really, what's the point? Surely that's all you need to know. Enjoy!
