This June, the adaptation theme seems to be youth – whether it's recapturing it, reliving it or just plain acting like it.

Snow White and the Huntsman (Trailer)
They went and changed the date on me again. Snow White and the Huntsman, formerly down for June 1st release is already out! The darker of the two Snow White adaptations out this year sees Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman who teaches Snow White how to fight. The dwarves include Bob Hoskins, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Ian McShane and Eddie Marsan. It looks stunning and promises fight sequences, effects and drama to boot.
Friday 15th June
Rock of Ages (Trailer)
The play has been going for a while now so it was surely only a matter of time before it became a film. This time, Tom Cruise stars as rock star Stacee Jaxx with support from Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti and Russell Brand. Set in 80s LA, expect drama and romance and a whole lot of music.
Friday 22nd June
Think Like a Man (Trailer)
Following on from the film adaptation at the end of May of What to Expect When You're Expecting (based on the bestselling pregnancy guide book), Think Like a Man is inspired by the relationship advice book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey and Millner Denene. A group of men decide to turn the tables on their women when they discover they’ve been using the book on them. The film stars Gabrielle Union and Chris Brown – I'm not going to lie, it looks horrendous.
Friday 29th June
Killer Joe (Trailer)
Based on a play by Tracy Letts, Killer Joe looks at what happens when a young man hires a dirty cop to kill his mother, and uses his sister as collateral. The film stars Matthew McConaughey (cue gratuitous photo), Emile Hirsch and Juno Temple and looks to be a great piece of dark humour.
It may not be an adaptation but special mention has to go to A Fantastic Fear of Everything (Trailer) out on 8th June. It stars Simon Pegg as a writer so involved in his crime thrillers that he starts to believe people are trying to kill him too.
