Morning, writers! If you’re yawning and procrastinating at your desk after the weekend, have a go at today’s writing prompt to get the wheels turning. Post your responses – fiction or with a sprinkling of non-fiction – in the comments below.
While at your parents’ house for Sunday lunch, you’re sent into the attic on an errand. As you rummage, you uncover an item from your childhood that you haven’t seen for years. It was the thing you coveted most as a kid. You can remember the sheer desperation you felt when you begged and pleaded with your parents for it, and how many winter nights you spent wishing and wishing as Christmas approached.
It seems funny now, you think as you hold it in your hands, tattered and aged.
Before you can fully comprehend what’s happening, the item starts to hum and you find yourself transported to the very moment you first received it, years and years ago.
Describe your experience.
