Back at your desk, computer switched on, ready to start work on that manuscript? All you need is a little motivational nudge to get you back into the writing flow, right? Right. Look no further, writers. We’ve created a beginning of the week writing prompt just for you.
On your way back home from the supermarket – dry cleaning in hand – you make a quick dash into the library to collect a stack of reserved books. You’re so harried, you don’t take the time to look through them until you’re settled at the kitchen table a little later with a cup of tea.
Strangely, there’s one book that you didn’t place on hold, which you’ve checked out incorrectly. On closer inspection, you discover the book in question is, in fact, a handwritten diary. Even more curious, it’s written in a hand you recognise…To whom does the diary belong and what does it say?
Do feel free to post your response (400 words or fewer) in the comments below. We love reading your creative take on these little prompts!
