Heidi-Jo Swain is a writer of romantic novels, a passionate blogger, vintage collector, lover of fresh flowers and avid reader with an interest in all things Pagan. She lives in Norfolk with her husband and two teens, which is where we are today, investigating the books currently in her to-be-read pile.
There are a few spots in my new house that I already love and my little corner in the bedroom is definitely one of them. My bedside table is a classic flat pack three drawer pine number currently in the queue for a makeover (along with the rest of the bedroom furniture) and home to a few of my favourite things.
My summer reading list has now grown out of all proportions thanks to the generosity of a friend and along with the 30 or so unread books on the Kindle carousel I now have Lucy Diamond (The Beach Café), Sarah Morgan (Summer With Love), Lindsey Kelk (I Heart London) and Abby Clements (Vivien’s Heavenly Ice Cream Shop) all vying for my attention in paperback.
The bookcase next to the bed is also crammed with books, many of which are older than me and none that I could bear to part with. I’m fully aware that my book compulsion is getting hand – there’s the floor to ceiling bookcase in the sitting room to consider as well – but really, where’s the harm? There are worse things to be addicted to, aren’t there?
Interestingly, my family and I have only been living in this house for a few weeks but strangely enough my bedside table and bookcase are set up in exactly the same way and in precisely the same spot as they were in the old bedroom. It just goes to show that you can’t improve perfection!
I hope you have enjoyed having a peek at my bedside table. Huge thanks to the Novelicious team for having me take part. Have a great summer everyone!
Thanks, Heidi-Jo!
