Lisa is a 24 year old graphic designer, but is also known for her love of books, cake and cats. She can be found blogging about everything from books to beauty (and kitties on YouTube) on her very pretty website, LeeLeeLoves. Today, Lisa has invited us to have a poke around her bedside table. Over to you, Lisa.
One of my favorite places to read has to be my bed. I think this stems back to my childhood when I would spend most of my time in my bedroom reading. Not because I’d been sent there for being naughty, but because I actually enjoyed being left alone to read. I still do.
Books and my trusty childhood cat Milly were friends I could always rely on, especially in my teens when we moved and changed schools often. Those years are definitely ones that shaped me into the book addict and Potterhead I am today and my aspiration to become the next Hermione Granger certainly encouraged me to do well throughout my education.
My bedside table is where I keep things that I like to have close by and, unfortunately for you lot, my TBR is not one of them. I keep that in my office so its always staring at me while I write – it can be a little daunting to look at!
When I am at home, my bedside table is where I keep my current read. You never know when you might wake up in the middle of the night and need to fit in a few chapters, which is often for me. I also keep my iPad Mini here in its fancy little DoDo case. My boyfriend purchased this for me to replace an old eReader. In the case, it looks just like a book – a very good disguise when I’m out and about. I always have a bag with me that’s big enough to fit it in, just in case I find myself stuck somewhere with time to kill, as it is filled with books!
You’ll also find some cute little trinket pots, a TY beanie named Addison, which was given to me by a friend (his name is written on his bottom) and my glasses so I can actually read all those books I have on my TBR pile! I also have a key box, which doubles up as a photo frame; I use this to hang jewellery, not keys. It also features a photo of my boyfriend and I six years ago in Southport.
Behind my lamp, I have what is called an Aerokat. This is a device for giving inhalers to cats. I keep it close for when our Norwegian Forest Cat, Dexter, wakes us needing his ventolin. I know it sounds crazy – imagine how bizarre it feels getting up in the night to give your cat his inhaler. His sister looks on in confusion every time.
My most precious item here is a photograph of my mum; it was taken when she was on a holiday with my Dad and is probably my favourite picture of her.
Last, we have a peppermint candy scented candle so it always feels a little bit like Christmas.
Thanks, Lisa!
