My writing room. A year ago I would have shown you a photo of my sofa as I used to grab moments anywhere and anyhow and didn't actually understand the importance of writing somewhere lush. That is until I set myself up here. It changed the way I work and I am totally in love with this room.
I sit at the desk overlooking our garden where our chickens run about cracking me up by perching on random stuff, chasing butterflies and digging up my husband's veg patch to create the Ultimate Dust Bowls.
Beyond the left of the picture I have an old LP machine and I play classical music to get me in the mood to write (lyrics aka Dancing Time lose me precious hours of writing).Note the scented candle on the desk which is mostly there for show as I never have any matches (and also, if we're sharing, the fresh flowers are often dead).
The fruit bowl is there so you are all like: "Wow she has a great room and is super healthy too" but actually my husband eats all the fruit. Sidenote, if this feature was called 'My Writing Food' you would basically just be getting a massive photo of a chocolate teacake/peanut m&m/batch of fudge. But otherwise this room is perfect for what I need. Somewhere I want to type.
So, there you have it. I heart it and I hope it inspires you to try and sneak a spot in your house to firmly take over as your own.
