Vintage Books will launch a new, year-long campaign this month, which encourages people to read fiction in place of self-help books to help them feel better.
The Shelf Help list consists of 12 books that have the power to make life brighter because, as we all know, one of the best ways to feel better about life is through a good book. Titles include Heartbreak Hotel by Deborah Moggach, Human Traces by Sebastian Faulks and Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? by Jeanette Winterson.
The campaign, which kicks off on January 20th – otherwise known as Blue Monday, will be accompanied by Shelf Help Sessions, a series of live events featuring the authors of the 12 chosen titles.
Reading guides, author interviews, essays and event information can be found on the Shelf Help website throughout the campaign.
