**Update** We now have a cover to match this book and an official synopsis. Scroll down for more! Squeeeee! A new Sophie Kinsella is on the (very distant) horizon. We have a title. That's it. We know that it will be released on the 16th February 2012, that it is called I've Got Your Number and that it will probably be awesome.
I was having a little think of what the book could be about based on the title and came up with the following:
- A call centre worker who falls in love (over the phone) with a regular customer. After a whirlwind phone seduction they get engaged before they meet and then have to figure out how to be compatible in person? Will they find love along the way?
- A cute but unsociable maths genius needs some money to save her home from re-possession and travels to a "Maths Olympics" contest in America in order to win the cash prize. She is forced to socialise with fellow contestants and maybe finds love along the way?
- Hot poor guy loses a lottery ticket. Beautiful skint girl finds a lost lottery ticket. The ticket is a massive winner. But who gets the money? Maybe someone finds love along the way?
- An evil but beautiful twenty something steals the brass numbers off her neighbour's front doors and then holds them to ransom by leaving notes that say "I've Got Your Number". Maybe she finds love along the way.
What do you reckon it'll be about? And which of the above (if any!) would you most like to read?
Also, if anyone has any further information on this book then please get in touch. We know you are just coyly trying to build up anticipation but we really want to know. Can We Keep a Secret? Yes. Yes we can.
*UPDATE*
Here's the cover. What do you think?
And the blurb reads…
Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!
Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.
What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.
