Katie's latest novel IN THE NAME OF LOVE is out now!
You’re obviously an excellent rider and very knowledgeable about living with someone with autism. Have you ever considered writing a non-fiction book solely about horses, or one about autism that could maybe help other parents?
I have already written a pony-care manual for children and I hadn’t thought about a book on autism, but I would definitely consider it. I think it’s important for people to learn about what it is like to take care of a child with autism.
You’re very open about not physically writing your books, but where do you get your ideas from for each book and which is your favourite book?
My ideas come to me through my busy lifestyle. I’m always meeting lots of different people with different personalities and so I just pick up ideas as I go along. My favourite book has to be ‘Angel’ which was my first novel. I think it appeals to me the most because it follows the life of a model from Brighton – a lifestyle I am very accustomed to.
What books do you prefer working on, the contemporary fiction, your biographies or the children’s books? What is your own comfort read?
My autobiographies. I find that they are the easiest to work on as they are about me. It’s also very therapeutic having to think my life through.
I know it sounds strange but I love reading about serial killers. I’m fascinated by the human brain and I think that those books give you an insight into what makes warped brains tick!
If you were starting out again would you still choose modeling, or would you concentrate on an equestrian career and go for Olympic glory?
I wouldn’t change anything – I love my life!
You’re a successful business woman as well as a model, writer, rider, mum etc, what advice would you give to modern women who want to succeed?
You can be whatever you want to be and achieve any of your dreams, as long as they are realistic.
Finally, would you like to join my friends and me on our next girly lunch out in Jersey?
Why not?! I had great fun at my signing in Jersey the other week!
Thanks, Katie!
