After rushing across central London I was happy to discover a table for eight set up at the back of BRGR in Soho. The guests were a mixture of readers and bloggers along with Light Brigade PR and Miranda’s commissioning editor at Avon.
Although running slightly late, Miranda arrived and soon had us all gossiping like a group of old friends from reading preferences to things on our bucket list. The evening was spent sipping on champagne, not Miranda as she announced she was actually pregnant (massive congratulations!), and eating from a tray of what can only be described as American diner tapas – 3 scrumptious mini burgers ranging from chicken to crab mayonnaise followed by a selection of deserts, the cheesecake was the stand-out for me. Talking to Miranda I learned that even after the success of her first 4 books and the fact that this one was quickly gaining in the Kindle charts – number 58 already! – she still couldn’t get over the wonderful reviews and that people actually loved her books. She also found it even more bizarre that people were selling her books with a mascara or lip gloss, because, obviously, a girl needs to look her best when reading.
As the evening came to a close we were presented with a copy of Take a Look at Me Now which has a cover you just want to stroke (general consensus) and a beautiful turquoise background that makes you want to go on holiday. The book is definitely set to hit the best seller list and will encourage early New Year’s resolutions for a lot of ladies! Plus spoiler alert – book number 6 is set to be an ‘almost sequel’ to Miranda’s first novel Fairytale of New York, ssshhh.
Take a Look at Me Now is out now!
