Imagine how exciting it would be to meet one of your favourite women’s fiction authors in the flesh. And talk to them about their books, other books and life in general. Then times that by about fifteen and you’ll understand my excitement at being in a room packed full of female commercial fiction writers. The absurdly svelte Kate Harrison to my left, the wonderful Chrissie Manby to my right, Victoria Fox and Lucy Robinson (yes in matching sailor hats) ahead, the fantastically funny Emma Garcia standing statuesque behind me and in the middle of the mix directing things in an effortless way, dressed in the most fantastic bright red dress – Mistress in Charge – Belinda Jones.
Then you walk through to the improvised make-up room and faint as you see another brilliant line-up including Ilana Fox in purple floral fabulousness, polka-dotted Molly Hopkins, Lucy Lord all tanned, Abby Clements with outrageously good victory curls and Anna-Lou Weatherley complete in an incredible 50’s bikini. It is enough to make any book lover sing and dance about, or download lots more things onto her Kindle.
So why is the room jam-packed with photographers, make up girls, the lovely ladies from Pretty Me Vintage and Reveal magazine’s stylist Wendy Rigg shouting instructions whilst rocking her own gorgeously vintage dress?
Well it’s the Sunlounger photo shoot of course! Just some of the authors to be adding stories to this epic Anthology out this Summer. You can read all of their tales, set in different exotic locations around the world, from July 1st – including a story from Novelicious’ own Kirsty Greenwood.
