I've just read about this writing competition, and thought I would bring it to your attention because they are looking for a short story with a female protagonist.
The site page reads
The theme of the competition is "A Slice of Life". We would like you to take us into the world of a female protagonist and show us something of her life. It could be a moment, a day or a particular event. Your protagonist can be any age, from any period in time and of any nationality (although the story must be written in English). She must, however, be a fictitious character. Remember you are writing a story that will be heard rather than read – it must grab the listener's attention and make them want to listen to the story until its end.
The winning story will be performed on the radio by a professional actor (how cool is that?) and will recieve a critique by bestselling writer Sophie King.
The closing date is 4th September 2009 and you can find out more details by clicking here!
