They are known for publishing high-quality books on outdoor recreation, animals, nature, sports, fishing and hunting, military history, and American history. Headquartered in Oregon, Timber Press is an award-winning press that was established in 1978. In 2006, they became an imprint of Workman Publishing. Timber primarily publishes books on gardening and horticulture, but they also have a great selection of books on the outdoors, animals, natural history, regional interest, nature and science, design, and crafting.

Headquartered in New York, Nova Science Publishers is one of the leading scientific publishers in the world.
