At Creative Writing 20s & 30s, writers are welcome to bring their work-in-progress to share with other writers. Situated in Los Angeles, A Very Important Meeting is a writing group that welcomes writers looking for a structured group to help them find focus in their writing process. A Very Important Meeting aims to keep writers accountable by meeting up with like-minded professional and amateur writers who are all working on their own writing.
A Very Important Meeting meets regularly, with meeting times available weekly. Los Feliz Writer’s Block is a writing group situated in Los Angeles. Led by group organizer Blaire, Los Feliz Writer’s Block is a collective of writers who commit to meeting online to help each other stay on task and progress on their respective writing projects. Writers focused on fiction, non-fiction and even poetry are all welcome.
Writing groups meet online once a week on Sunday mornings. Meetings begin on Zoom with a short meeting, after which writers switch over to Slack for an hour and 45 minutes for writing practice. Romance Writer’s Club is a writing group based out of Studio City, Los Angeles. Organized by group leader Elise K, Romance Writer’s Club welcomes all romance writers from the area to join. Romance Writer’s Club has group members working on everything from romance novels to TV script to short stories and poetry.
Romance Writer’s Club meetings are free of charge and take place online. Based in Los Angeles, Community Writers Group of Los Angeles is an organization that supports African-American writers. Writing group members meet once a month to discuss their work-in-progress, share ideas and continue to build on relationships within the writing group. New group members are welcome to join the group from January 1 to March 1 of every year, and can do so by contacting Community Writers Group of Los Angeles and providing contact information and sharing about your writing goals.
