Dan Stevens, the dashing star of ITV'S most amazing costume drama, Downton Abbey, has been
announced as a judge on next year's Booker Prize panel. Along with biographer, Amanda Foreman (who wrote the book Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, which was adapted into Oscar-winning film The Duchess, starring Keira Knightley), academic types, Bharat Tandon and Dinah Birch, and the panel Chairman, Sir Peter Stothard, Stevens will help to choose the eventual Booker Prize winner from over 100 novels.
Cuz Matthew is very clever, having studied English Lit at Cambridge and all, but we can't help wondering why they didn't ask Lady Edith, who chills in the library well more than anyone else. She even recommended books to all those wounded officers that time, for heaven's sake!
The Booker Prize longlist will be announced in July and the winner, in October.
