Born in Calgary, Beverley Bateman is an author of romantic suspense and medical thrillers. Her works, among others, include books such as Death Awaits, A Cruise to Remember and a Murder to Forget. Beverley is also author of the Hawkins Ranch Series based on the Hawkins brothers and set in Duster, Montana. Kristi Charish’s is the author of Owl and the Japanese Circus, which was published this year, and is based on a protagonist called Alix (also known as Owl), who is an ex-archaeology grad student that has switched to becoming an international antiquities thief, and goes on an action-packed journey through a supernatural world. The follow up book to this story called Owl and the City of Angels is set to be released shortly. On Twitter, Kristi posts about writer events and book signings she’ll be attending. 4. Lynn Coady
Born in Nova Scotia, Lynn Coady is an award-winning author who these days, splits her time between Toronto and Edmonton. Her books include titles such as Strange Heaven, Mean Boy, Play the Monster Blind, and The Antagonist. Her collection of short stories called Hellgoing won the 2013 Scotiabank Giller Prize. Lynn is very active on Twitter, and tweets and retweets about various things such as politics, writing, and journalism. An award-winning, middle grade and young adult author whose books have a paranormal twist, Patti Larsen has authored numerous books; many of which are written in series. Two examples of these include the Diamond City Trilogy and The Clone Chronicles. Patti’s most recent works is a book called Family Magic about Sydlynn Hayle, whose mother is a witch, and father a demon. Trina M. Lee is an urban fantasy author who has been writing since she was 9. She is author of the Alexa O’Brien Huntress Series, based upon two main characters called Alexa O’Brien who is a werewolf and Arys Knight, a vampire. Trina has also written a spin off from this series called Rebel Heart Series, although both series stand on their own.
