1. Write every day, if you can.
2. Don’t talk about your ideas before you’ve written them. If you talk about them too much, you lose the need to write them down. You’ll grow bored of them.
3. Don’t force an idea, let it percolate. It’ll come when it’s ready.
4. Do it for the right reasons, because it makes you happy, because you love to create, because you want to make stories. Not because you want to be rich or famous.
5. Trust that even though almost every storyline has been done, you have a voice that can tell a different story, can make it original and one of a kind. Trust that you have something to say.
