Back at your writing desk, but still waiting for the words to come? Why not have a go at our beginning of the week prompt to limber up your literary senses?
This week, grab the book nearest to you and copy out the very first sentence.
In our case, it would be the first line of Woman Upstairs by Claire Messud:
"How angry am I? You don’t want to know. Nobody wants to know about that."
Next, continue from that line and write a paragraph or two moving the story forward in a way that's completely different to its original plot. Get creative and really change things up.
