4. Long Beach Public Library
With its roots in 1926 when The Lions Club opened the first free library in Long Beach on East Park Street, Long Beach Public Library was formed as a public library in 1928. There are three locations that make up Long Beach Library; namely the main Library, the Point Lookout Branch and the West End Branch.

Started by Miss Harriet Mulford and Mrs. Chauncey C. In 1907, it became the Hempstead Library and then the Hempstead Public Library in 1951.
