Emily Liebert, author of, You Knew Me When – to be reviewed here soon – recently gave us her top five writing tips:
2. Create a game plan. I find that outlining my books, down to the chapter, really helps. This way, I know what's ahead and can start thinking about what I want to write beforehand, like when I'm in the shower!
3. Treat writing like it's your job. You have to "go to work" even if you're not feeling it.
4. Ask family/friends to critique your writing. It's so hard to be objective about your own work.
5. Develop a thick skin and never answer back to a negative review—no matter how tempting it may be!
