1. I am working on my 24th novel at the moment. No, it doesn’t get much easier!
2. Read a lot in your chosen genre so you understand what is required.
3. Read dialogue out loud if you’re uncertain.
4. Make your characters likeable or admirable if you can’t like them. They can be wet for the first chapter then they have to get a grip.
5. Accept criticism if you respect the source. It’s tough to take but it will save you possibly years of working it out for yourself. And don’t give up!
