Have you ever been so inspired by an author’s work that you wish you could tell them exactly how much they have impacted your life? In this series, Literary Love Letters, we do just that – share open love letters to inspiring authors. Today, Picture Perfect author Kate Forster writes to JK Rowling.
Thank you so much for lifting yourself up off the floor and writing the Harry Potter series. I don’t always think people really understand how flattening depression is, and poverty and being a single parent, and everything else you had thrown your way.
I read your first three books when I was pregnant with my son, and was immediately swept away into the world of magic. What is astonishing to me about your work, is your imagination and the quiet subtlety of your research.
