My Bedside Table – Emma Louise

By Novelicious

This post was originally published at Novelicious.com and is now at WritingTipsOasis.com. WritingTipsOasis.com acquired Novelicious.com in June 2022.

Today we're calling on book blogger Emma Louise in the North West of England. Emma writes contemporary romances in her spare time and loves tea, owls, warm jumpers and anything to do with Daniel Radcliffe. Over to you, Emma.

Emma Louise's Bedside Table
My bedside table is a place where all of my necessary items are; the books, the clock, the pen, the paper and of course, the Hedwig teddy. Since I started book blogging in April 2012, my bedside table has been home to my books. The ones which I have already read are currently piled neatly on my floor waiting for me to purchase a bookcase.

A lot of people have their favourite books on their bedside table, but not me. Mine consists of my paperback TBR pile, which I just can’t wait to read. At the moment, there aren’t any newly released books – that's because Amazon keeps me waiting! The current books are The First Last Kiss, The Fault In Our Stars, One Moment One Morning, Wishful Thinking, Love Is A Thief, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them (which will soon join my pride and joy collection of Harry Potter books) and finally, The Man Diet.

Emma LouiseThe owl cage was a birthday present from a friend and consists of two owl tea lights, which I'm very scared to actually light. On top, as you can see, is Hedwig. There is my alarm clock, which was the last thing my Nan ever bought me and since I was little, I've always fallen asleep to the sound of a ticking clock – apparently it's soothing. Hanging on my wall is a quote which says: ‘Do whatever makes your heart smile.’ After a very difficult year, it's a saying which has stayed true to me.

Over the presspin is a bracelet which I bought from Downtown Disney in Orlando – on one side, it says ‘Imagine’ and on the other, it says ‘Achieve’. Whatever side the bracelet is on that day, I obey the word. Below my TBR pile is a coaster from SeaWorld in Orlando and then, finally, my book journal, where I make review notes and scribble down books which I'd like to request a review copy of or purchase. I also have my pen from the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London which has its moments – sometimes it'll write, sometimes it won't. But, there you have it, that's my bedside table.

Thanks, Emma!
