While Orpington-based Rea loves her job as a beauty therapist, she loves reading books even more. Three years ago, she started her own book blog, Rea Book Review, to keep up with the numerous novels she’d devoured (often three a week!). Today, Rea has invited us to take a peek at her TBR pile.
The only thing missing from my bedside table is my cup of tea and a bar of chocolate! As you can see, like most bookworms’ bedside tables, I have a selection of books.
I always have my current read, which at the moment is OMG Baby! by Emma Garcia. You’ll also see Love Under Different Skies by Nick Spalding, which is the book I just finished reading and need to review. I have to leave them on my little table otherwise – at the pace I read – I end up forgetting to review (smack my wrist). This book is a very funny so if you haven’t read it, be sure to add it to your pile!
I also have my next read on my nightstand, which is One Night In Italy by Lucy Diamond. I can’t wait as I love all of this author’s other books. The last book you will see in the pile is Mindfulness, which is a self-help book – something that is new to me. This is to help me find peace in a frantic world. I do suffer with depression and anxiety and this book was recommended as a great help, so it stays on my side and I read it in between my novels.I also have two notebooks. The little one I won from Harper Impulse; I use it to keep an organised order of books to be read. The other notebook (yes, pink again!) is for writing my reviews if I finish a review in bed!
Of course, my Kindle takes pride of place on the table too. I do love it (pink!), but I still prefer a good old-fashioned paperback. You can also see my favourite book mark, which my partner got me for my birthday; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a perfect theme for any chocolate and book lover’s bookmark.
The shoe you see in the background is actually by book money box! Every week I empty any pound coins I have left in my purse into it and then, when it is full, I go and treat myself to some books.
Last but not least is my bedside lamp, which I love. It reminds me of the Fairytale of New York cover by Miranda Dickinson!
Thanks, Rea!
