I’m so thrilled to see Wickham Hall out in paperback this month. I completely fell in love with the place when I was writing it and I absolutely hope that readers will too. But what will I be reading myself this year…?
There are some great books out in 2016, many of which are actually being published this month. In fact, I’m slightly worried that the new book I’m working on will be mothballed while I get down to some serious reading (but don’t tell my editor). It was extremely hard to narrow my choice down to a top ten but here they are:
You and Me, Always by Jill Mansell
The last book I read by Jill, Three Amazing Things About You, stayed with me for ages. I adored it and I’m so looking forward to this one.
The Secrets of Happiness by Lucy Diamond
Lucy creates such fabulous characters who you can’t help falling in love with and I’m looking forward to immersing myself in her latest story out soon.
The Little Shop of Happy-Ever-After by Jenny Colgan
I've only just recovered from sobbing my way through Emily’s solo in The Christmas Surprise which I finished last week. I can’t believe that I've only got a couple of weeks to wait before another Jenny C masterpiece floats angelically onto my reading pile. Happy days!
The Night That Changed Everything by Laura Tait and Jimmy Rice
We share the same publisher and editor and clearly the same sense of humour too. I adored their debut, The Best Thing That Never Happened to Me and I’m sure I’ll love their new one too.
Making It Up As I Go Along by Marian Keyes
I’m not normally one for non-fiction but this is MARIAN KEYES! Besides, judging by the blurb it’s going to be a corker.
Wildflower Bay by Rachael Lucas
Rachael is taking us back to Auchenmor for her new book, out in May and I can’t wait to be back on the island.
I was lucky enough to hear Sara reading a sneak preview of this in November and it had me in stitches. She is a very talented lady and this book is going to be brilliant.
The Trouble With Goats And Sheep by Joanna Cannon
Joanna has been chosen by The Observer this year as one of the ‘new faces of fiction’. I've heard so many great things from other authors about this book and am looking forward to joining the herd (see what I did?).
Late Summer In The Vineyard by Jo Thomas
Wine, Summer, a vineyard in south-west France and wine… Jo Thomas is a hugely entertaining writer and her new novel speaks my kind of language. Did I mention the wine?
All The Stars In The Heavens by Adriana Trigiani
It seems like a lifetime ago since I totally fell in love with Adriana’s books. I was totally captivated by the Big Stone Gap series. Her new novel is out this month and I'm ready to fall in love all over again.
So there are my top ten. Are these on your TBR pile too? And if not what is? Leave me a comment, I’d love to find out…
