Doctor Who is finally back on our screens – with a brand new doctor no less – but if you can't wait for your Doctor Who fix in between each episode, why not try an eBook? It might surprise you to learn that there’s a whole series of brand new time trip adventures – starring the Doctor in various incarnations – written by some very well-known authors indeed.
1. Doctor Who: Into the Nowhere by Jenny Colgan – Jenny, known for her books such as Little Beach Street Bakery and The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris, has written this adventure starring the eleventh doctor and Clara. They land on an unknown alien planet, which is even unfamiliar to the doctor. It's a planet the Doctor has never seen and it isn't even registered on the TARDIS database. The question is: what could be so terrible that its very existence has been erased? Jenny has also written another Doctor Who book called Dark Horizons – available in paperback.
2. Doctor Who: The Bog Warrior by Cecelia Ahern – Cecelia, the bestselling Irish author known for her books such as PS, I Love You and One Hundred Names, has created an adventure for the tenth Doctor. On the planet of Cashel the Doctor witnesses a strange masked ball. Prince Zircon has to choose a wife from the resurrected dead called The Bog People. But Zircon is in love with the enslaved Princess Ash. How will the Doctor sort it all out?
3. Doctor Who: The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Time Traveller by Joanne Harris – Joanne, bestselling author of Chocolat and The Gospel of Loki has written an adventure for the third doctor. In the adventure, the doctor's body is being destroyed by radiation and he is struggling to get back to UNIT HQ. Then he arrives in the most perfect English village, where everyone is happy. But is he really on Earth, or somewhere far more peculiar? As his body weakens, the Doctor and the Queen of the village begin to unravel the truth.
4. Doctor Who: A Handful of Stardust by Jake Arnott – Jake is the bestselling author of The Devil's Paintbrush and The Long Firm. His adventure stars the sixth Doctor and Peri. It is 1572 and the TARDIS is diverted to England. There, they meet John Dee, mathematician, astrologer, alchemist, magician, and the greatest mind of our time. But why have they been diverted here? It appears that Dee and his assistant have discovered a disturbance in the cosmos, which is about to bring terrible danger.5. Doctor Who: Salt of the Earth by Trudi Canavan – Trudi is an Australian fantasy author, who has chosen to write about the third Doctor and his companion, Jo Grant. The pair have arrived for a holiday in Australia in 2028. They're at a lake surrounded by weird sculptures carved from the salt. But these look different … are they really made from salt?
There are more eBooks in the Time Trips Collection from authors such as Nick Harkaway and A.L Kennedy with more set to follow.
