Rebecca Chance is the author of six novels, the newest of which, Killer Queens, has recently been released. Here are her top tips for aspiring authors.
1. Know what genre you’re writing in.
2. Read in that genre, widely, the good and the bad.
3. While writing, dip into the bad books in your genre to remind yourself that you can’t possibly be as bad as them, and they’re published!
4. Finish.
5. Look at the good books in your genre, see the agents the authors have thanked, approach those agents to see if they’ll represent you.
