I bought Molly’s Millions by Victoria Connelly after reading the shining quote given by Lisa Jewell on the front cover, and if you can’t
trust Lisa Jewell, then who can you trust, eh?
Anyways, it tells the tale of florist, Molly Bailey, who wins four million pounds on the lottery. And then decides to give it all away. No, she’s not mental. The reason Molly wants to part with her millions, is because throughout her life money has been the root of all family trouble, and the reason her mother walked out years before. Molly decides that she’s happy with her lot and that this is her big chance to do something wonderful for others less fortunate.
While she zooms her way around the UK, anonymously giving away money to those who need it, journalist Tom Mackenzie is hot on her trail, determined to find out who the mystery benefactor is. And he’s very handsome!
On top of that, her penny-pinching family are also trying to catch up with her, petrified that Molly will spend the millions that they want!
I thought that Molly’s Millions was a delightful read. Upbeat, visual, and fantastically written.
