S.E.C.R.E.T is an underground organisation whose aim is to empower women through sexual awakenings. There are ten steps each client works through, with each step containing a fantasy that has been arranged by S.E.C.R.E.T. Cassie was once a client of S.E.C.R.E.T, but now works within the organisation herself. S.E.C.R.E.T gave her confidence and made her feel worthwhile, so she hopes to provide other women with empowerment too. But Cassie’s life isn’t as sorted as she thought. When her new boyfriend, Will finds out about her involvement in S.E.C.R.E.T, he is disgusted and ends the relationship. Cassie turns to her friend and ex lover, Jesse, but she can’t switch off her feelings for Will.
Solange is a local TV news reporter. She’s a 41-year-old single mother who hasn’t made time for relationships since her divorce, so when she is approached by S.E.C.R.E.T, she finds herself agreeing to become their latest client.
S.E.C.R.E.T Revealed is the third instalment of the S.E.C.R.E.T series, but the first I have read. While I didn’t necessarily think it was imperative to read the other books first, I did feel myself warming to Solange’s character more than Cassie’s as I felt there was a fresh start with her whereas Cassie’s story clearly began earlier and I was having to catch up. Because of this, I was more interested in Solange’s story rather than Cassie’s dilemma of Will vs Jesse.
I thought S.E.C.R.E.T was well-written and there were certainly plenty of sex scenes to satisfy any fans of erotica. I liked that Solange was a slightly older woman who had resigned herself to the relationship scrapheap after her divorce but was picked up by S.E.C.R.E.T and given a new lease of life. I wasn’t entirely convinced by the organisation as beneath all the glamour of S.E.C.R.E.T and the mansion, it all seemed a bit seedy to me, especially the ‘training’ of new recruits. But then I was reading an erotic novel so I just went with it. I thought some of the lines were a little cheesy at times (but I find this with most erotica, to be honest), but it was an action-packed read that was pure filth within the backdrop of two women’s storylines.8/10
