By Novelicious

This post was originally published at Novelicious.com and is now at WritingTipsOasis.com. WritingTipsOasis.com acquired Novelicious.com in June 2022.

I knew a Lucy when I was a child. But I wouldn't say the world was overflowing with Lucys. Unless of course, you step into the world of fiction. Rather humourously for the avid reader, at one point a few years ago, it seemed like every second character was called Lucy. Many even had the name Lucy in the title. So here are our top ten books: All about Lucy.

Heaven Can Wait1. Heaven Can Wait by Cally Taylor – Lucy Brown is getting married in the next few days. Life, she thinks, couldn't be more perfect. Twenty four hours later, she's dead. Unable to face being separated from her soul mate she decides to become a ghost – ending up in Limbo – which is a grotty student house in North London.

2. Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married by Marian Keyes – Lucy Sullivan goes to a pyschic and discovers she is going to be married in a year. But she doesn't even have a boyfriend! Who could it be? Gorgeous but unreliable Gus? Handsome Chuck? Or flirty Daniel? Or maybe even cute Jed?

But at her best friend's wedding Lucy has niggling doubts. Then there is Nathan.

Famous last words7. Lucy Blue, Where Are You by Louise Harwood – Snow has cancelled all flights but Lucy Blue needs to get to London from Inverness. She decides to hire a car with a stranger. For a while, travelling in the car, she and the stranger are sepeated from the world. Then they go their seperate ways. A few weeks later she sees a poster. A picture of a red car and the words, Lucy Blue, where are you?

8. He Loves Lucy by Susan Donavan – Lucy pitches a promotional campaign, from flabby to fabulous where a gorgeous fitness trainer helps a woman achieve the body of her dreams.
