The November 2016 releases are looking suitably autumnal – some sparkling women’s fiction, some moody, thoughtful historicals, and a whole host of thrillers to immerse yourself in on a smokey, misty autumn day. Enjoy!

2. Midwinter by Fiona Melrose - A father and son face the death of their wife and mother, years previously, during a bleak and gruelling winter.
3. A Year And A Day by Isabelle Broom - Three women travel to Prague to find themselves: Megan, looking for inspiration, Hope, to forge a relationship with her daughter, and Sophie with her boyfriend Robin. Their lives intersect and intwine in the beautiful city.
4. Lyrebird by Cecilia Ahern - Laura leads a solitary existence, until Solomon stumbles into it. Laura is removed from her peaceful landscape to busy Dublin, where she is confronted by a world desperate to understand her.
5. Gone Without A Trace by Mary Torjussen - A woman arrives home to find her boyfriend – and every one of his possessions and every memory of him – gone without a trace, and without an explanation.
6. The Taken by Alice Clark-Platts - In a Durham boarding house at dawn, Pastor Tristan Snow is murdered while he prays. A whole host of suspects include his unsurprised daughter, his inscrutable wife, and the sister who knows all of his secrets.
7. Evelyn, After by Victoria Helen Stone - Evelyn’s husband, a prestigious psychiatrist, is killed one night in a car accident. Evelyn soon discover Juliet, his secret lover, but also his patient. Evelyn’s obsession with Juliet begins to grow. What will be left of her after it burns out?
8. Safe With Me by K L Slater - Anna, a recluse, witnesses a devastating road accident and recognises the driver as Carla, the woman who ruined her life all those years ago. Now it’s Anna’s chance to set things straight, but her revenge needs to be executed carefully.
9. Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult - A nurse is banned from looking after a baby by white supremacist parents. The baby dies as a result, and the death changes everything. Told from multiple perspective, it explores themes of prejudice and morality.
10. The Last Days of Leda Grey by Essie Fox - A creepy, eerie novel about an old woman who lives reclusively in a cliff top house, remembering her youth in silent films. What dangerous obsessions led to her being abandoned there for more than half a century?
