Over the summer I took a few weeks off. Away from the demands of deadlines and with the need to read something light and upbeat I turned to my shelves and picked up the first installment of The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot. Perfect. Soon I'd re-read all ten of them. Wouldn't it be lovely, I thought as I closed the final book, if Meg wrote another book about Princess Mia? But this time an adult book for all those fans who've grown up with her. On the off-chance I went onto Meg's website and I was most excited to find that not one but two new Princess Mia books are coming next year – and one of them is for adults. I was so excited.
Inspired, I asked Team Novelicious what books they were really excited about. Here are ten:
1. Princess Diaries XI: Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot – Yes! Finally, 15 years after the very first Princess Diaries young adult novel hit the shelves, 2015 will see the release of a brand new book in the series. And this time it will be for adults. Princess Mia is organising her wedding to Michael (aw) when the paparazzi uncovers she has a long lost younger sister, Olivia Grace. Twelve year old Olivia will also have her own book – aimed at 8 – 12 year olds – called From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess. You can find out more from Meg Cabot's website.

2. The Seafront Tearooms by Vanessa Greene – Out in October, this gorgeous-looking novel is anticipated eagerly by Zarina. In the peaceful hideaway of the Seafront Tearooms a group of women find what they're looking for. Full of romance, tea and cake. Perfect.
3. The Woman Who Stole My Life by Marian Keyes – Sounding oh so incredibly intriguing, Marian's next novel is out in November and we can hardly wait. It is about a woman returning to Dublin after a year in New York touring her self-help book. But she's got writer's block and she didn't leave New York on a high. Stella wants to get back to being the woman she used to be. But can she? And should she? The full blurb and the cover can be found on the Curtis Brown website.
4. The Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain – Out in October in the US and in January 2015 in the UK, The Silent Sister is eagerly awaited by Susan. Riley has spent her life believing her sister committed suicide as a teenager. Now her father has died, however, she finds evidence to suggest her sister is alive. Find out more here.
5. Saving Grace by Jane Green – Coming later this year, Saving Grace is about Grace and Ted Chapman – a literary power couple. When Ted's assistant leaves, Beth arrives as a replacement and is someone to organise and handle Ted. Soon Grace becomes uneasy about Beth. Is she paranoid? Or are her instincts right? Find out more on Jane's website.
6. The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell – In July, David Mitchell tweeted a 6,000-word story, The Right Sort, on Twitter. This short story is set in the same universe as The Bone Clocks and its release (tomorrow – September 2) is hotly anticipated. Longlisted for the Man Booker prize, the novel is about Holly Sykes who encounters a strange woman who offers a small kindness in exchange for 'asylum'. It is decades before Holly understands what this asylum means.
7. Us by David Nicholls – I had never heard such excited squeals from book reviewers until pre-publication copies of this novel started arriving last month. Out at the end of September, Us is about a couple whose son is about to leave home. Only Connie, the wife, has decided she is also leaving to find herself. Douglas, the husband, organises one last holiday to win the respect of his son and make his wife fall in love with him all over again.
8. Shopaholic to the Stars by Sophie Kinsella – Out at the end of September, this eagerly awaited installment in the Shopaholic series has many of Team Novelicious counting down the days on their calendar. Becky is now hanging out with the stars in Hollywood and has decided on a new career as a celebrity stylist. But dressing the stars is not as easy as she anticipated. If you can't wait a few more weeks, an excerpt is available on Sophie's website.
9. The Taxidermist's Daughter by Kate Mosse – Kerry always likes something ghostly to read in autumn so she is very much looking forward to this. Standing in a churchyard at night, the villagers are waiting to see the ghosts of those who will die in the coming year. As everyone looks at the church no-one sees the gloved hand pick up the flint. You can read more on Kate's website.
10. Edge of Eternity by Ken Follett – The promise of the third book in the best-selling Century Trilogy, which follows five international families through the great events of the past century, has fans counting down the days. Out in September, you can find out more on Ken's website.
