There was a long list of criteria for this month’s book club pick. We wanted women’s fiction that was sharp and witty. An achingly funny book with real substance. A novel with heart and a heroine we could love. Perhaps a cyber troll called Peshwari Naan and an incontinent dog named Parsnip … Well the last two weren’t on our original criteria list, but when we heard that It’s Not Me, It’s You by Mhairi McFarlane had both, they suddenly seemed pretty important, you know?
The book world has been raving about It’s Not Me, It’s You for the last few months and having read a couple of Mhairi’s other very funny books, we thought it’d make the perfect March read.
Here’s what it's all about:Delia Moss isn’t quite sure where she went wrong.
When she proposed and discovered her boyfriend was sleeping with someone else – she thought it was her fault.
When she realised life would never be the same again – she thought it was her fault.
And when he wanted her back like nothing had changed – Delia started to wonder if perhaps she was not to blame…
From Newcastle to London and back again, with dodgy jobs, eccentric bosses and annoyingly handsome journalists thrown in, Delia must find out where her old self went – and if she can ever get her back.
