1. Badass Women’s Book Club
The Badass Women’s Book Club was created for women to share books that empower and inspire them. The group meets both in person at Bards Alley Bookstore in Vienna, Virginia, and online. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. each month on the first Wednesday.
In addition to book club meetings, there is a private Facebook page where members can share news, commentary, and additional book suggestions beyond those they explore as a group. Founded by a woman named Gina Warner, the book club is all about being a powerful woman.

2. JWA Book Club
The Jewish Women’s Archive Book Club is a virtual book club for women. The group reads books that were written by Jewish women with other Jewish women in mind. Discussions are held virtually on Goodreads. An event schedule is posted online with dates and times.
In addition to club meetings, the group maintains a blog about current reading selections and hosts periodic book talks with authors for members to enjoy. Although there are no fees to join the book club, donations are requested to help support group activities.

3. Journeywoman Travel Book Club
Are you a woman who loves to travel? If so, this may be the book club for you. Book selections are centered around tourist destinations and safe traveling for women. Virtual meetings are held at 8 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. Registration is via Eventbrite.
The book club uses the Trip Fiction database of destination-based books to determine what books they will read. Books can be purchased through members’ favorite seller, borrowed from the library or a friend, or explored via audiobook before the next meeting to foster discussion.

4. Well-Read Black Girl Book Club
This book club is sponsored by the Women and Children First Feminist Book Club in Chicago, Illinois. Members focus on books that embrace LGBTQIA+, disabled and feminist writings by Black women and is open to Black women members who want to join.
Meetings are held virtually every fourth Wednesday of the month. The Zoom presentation by hosts of the group opens up at 6:30 p.m. except during the holidays when it may be rescheduled to accommodate members’ time with family and friends.

5. RUMC Women’s Book Club
This group is made up of like-minded Christian women who enjoy reading a mixture of fiction and non-fiction on a variety of subjects. Hosted by a group of women from the Reveille United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia, the group meets monthly at the church and online.
Book selections are posted on the book club’s section of the church website. Meetings take place at the church and via zoom every second Thursday of the month. The discussion starts promptly at 1:00 p.m. A sampling of previous books read can be found on their page.

6. Future Women Book Club
Hachette Book Club and Future Women sponsor this book club for women. Jamila Rizvi and Astrid Edwards lead mid-day meetings. The group focuses on reading contemporary books that are making the news and climbing up the bestselling lists.
You don’t have to be a member of the book club to attend their virtual meetings. You can choose which books and discussions you would like to attend from their events page and sign up to join in the chat. You can also listen to their podcast exploring books relating to women’s issues.

7. Together Women Rise Book Club
Together Women Rise Book Club selects one book geared toward women’s issues each quarter for members to read and discuss in a virtual setting. Meetings are posted on their events page. Members can select the events they want to attend and register for the ones that interest them.
Books can be obtained from whatever source readers prefer in advance. In addition to the quarterly Zoom meetings, the group holds discussions on dates and times that are posted online for upcoming chats and are open to all women and allies.

8. 100 Rural Women Reading Room
100 Rural Women Reading Room is open to all women who want to participate in monthly online discussions on a variety of genres in fiction and non-fiction books. Past books read and the upcoming selection are posted on their website for participants to view.
If you would like to join the group, simply procure the current book selection and enjoy it. Then, attend the group meeting to share your thoughts and opinions on the reading material with other members. The hosts lead the meetings with questions developed from the book.

9. Mocha Girls Read
Mocha Girls Read was founded by a Black woman named Alysa who was having trouble locating a book club with other like-minded Black women. So, she started her own club. Since it was founded, the club has grown to hold meetings in fourteen different cities in the United States.
Currently, all meetings are still being held online via Zoom or Google Meet. Dates and times are posted privately to members who join the club. Book selections vary widely across many genres of fiction and non-fiction selected by the group organizers.

10. Literary Ladies Book Club
If you are looking for a book club for women in New York City, you can join the Literary Ladies Book Club on Meetup. The group meets monthly to discuss their current selection. Discussions are held online so there is no need to be in the area to participate in the group.
All you need to do is to read the book and then log into the Zoom meeting on the first Tuesday of the month to share your thoughts with the other readers. If you do happen to be in New York City, you can also meet at one of their extracurricular gatherings held at local venues.
