So you’ve been busy writing your eBooks. Writing them is one thing, though. Selling them is another. There are number of things you can do to maximise sales of your eBooks. Read on to find out more:
1. List Your eBooks On Many Self-Publishing Platforms
The more online retail stores your eBooks are on, the more chance there is for readers to find them. Therefore, self-publish with as many platforms as you can.
By self-publishing with Amazon.in, your titles will end up in all their global stores. However, there are many more others such as Smashwords, and Indian platforms such as Pothi.com. Even Infibeam, one of India’s biggest e-commerce sites allows authors to self-publish.
2. Create an E-mail List On Your Blog
Having a blog can give you a good platform to reach out to people both in India and beyond. People can come and read your latest blog posts. However, it’s useful to also start an e-mail list. This is so your fans can receive your blog posts directly into their e-mail account, and you can also inform them of when you release a new title. Your closest fans will most likely be the first to buy your new eBook.
3. Write more eBooks
One way to increase your overall sales is to write more eBooks. The more titles you have out, the more you leave your footprint across the various retail sites and the Internet.
4. Write Guest Posts
Writing guest posts can be a really good way to gain exposure, and connect with new fans that may then end up buying your eBooks. One way you can do this is by finding popular blogs and websites, who cater for the types of readers that might be interested in your work.
You can then contact the blog or website owner about the possibility of you writing a guest post. Bloggers will usually allow you to also include a short biography, and link back to your own blog, or to your eBook sales page at the end of your guest post.
Your chances of getting featured on popular blogs and websites can increase tremendously, through initially commenting at posts already on these sites. Doing so will make you familiar to the blog or website owner, who will then be more open to receiving your request to write a guest post.
5. Get Featured in Newspapers and Magazines
Getting featured in newspapers and magazines can be another excellent way to gain publicity, which has the potential to result in more sales for you. This approach works best when you have a story linked to your eBook that is newsworthy.
For example, do you have a unique story that inspired you to write your eBook? If so, this could be just the hook you can use to approach journalists in newspapers and magazines to do an interview with you.
When approaching journalists, you can usually find out the names and e-mail addresses of relevant editors, online. Alternatively, you can call papers and magazines directly, and ask for the contact details of the relevant editor or reporter who might be interested in your story.
