You have written some great books, but somehow your books are not selling. You panic as your mind asks you, “What can I do?” There are no hard and fast rules to boost your book sales. Sometimes, there will also be folks who get away with not doing any of the following. We have some tips and suggestions for you to keep in mind to sell books faster.
1. Is an e-book version of your book available?
Most Indie writers’ success stories can be attributed to the sale of e-books. If you are looking to sell more books faster, then ensure you have an e-book edition as well. The e-book market is growing worldwide, and as newer countries go online, e-books sales will be widely accepted and will increase. So, make sure you have print and e-books available. You can use ePub and Word formats and even Scrivener for formatting and then publish your books on Amazon KDP, Smashwords, or BookBaby.
2. Does your book cover look professional?
Anything that is visually appealing will lure your customers. Do you remember the cover of the classic book Moby Dick? If you like such stunning covers, so will your customers. If you want to sell books faster, then ensure your book cover is professionally designed. Otherwise, what can happen is your customers may reach your book sales page and scoot if they find the cover unappealing. It is also a good idea to do some research and bookmark the ones that look visually attractive. You can also take pictures of the books you like. After sufficient research, take the help of a professional cover designer to design your book cover.
3. Has your book been edited by a professional?
While it is good to do self-editing for your book, it is always better to hire a professional editor as somebody else will be able to grasp errors that you may have overlooked. It is always good to rest your manuscript for a while by putting it away and then re-reading it. This way, you have more chances of spotting your own errors. If hiring the services of a professional editor is outside your budget, then try taking the help of a critique group of readers within your genre or join groups like the Alliance of Independent Authors to connect with other like-minded writers.
4. Have you used a hook or quotes from reviews or other material?
If you want your books to sell, then make sure your Amazon sales pages are not replete with typos and grammatical errors. Customers will not buy your book if your description is badly written. Your product description is like a sales page. You can also make your description attractive by formatting it by using Author Marketing Club’s Premium service, through which you can use different colors for headlines or other funky HTML.
5. How do you price your book?
There are no fixed rules to price a book. Most e-books are under $9.99 and a lot of Indie books are under $5. Set a realistic price for your book as it is difficult to sell books at high prices.

I’m Smitha Abraham. I love traveling in my flights of imagination and use these flights to craft short stories and poetry. I am a budding writer from India. My passions are reading, creative writing, listening to music, learning new languages, meeting new people, getting acquainted with different cultures and traveling. Authors like Isabel Allende, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, genres like magic realism, historical romance, and writing styles that are imaginative and flow effortlessly fascinate me. I love to unwind with a book curled up on a sofa or by gazing at the stars by the sea shore. I am a nature lover and spending time admiring the sunset and sunrise is relaxing for me.
